Marty Seifert is the current Republican Minority leader of the Minnesota House of Representatives. He represents MN House District 21a, a predominantly rural area surrounding Marshall. He was first elected in 1996.

Seifert currently serves on the following House committees.

  • Governmental Operations and Veterans Affairs
  • Rules and Legislative Administration
  • State Government Finance (Chair)
  • Ways and Means

During his time at Southwest Minnesota State University he brought the College Republicans back to the University. Later, he became student body president of Smsusa. Upon Graduation, Seifert received a B.S. in Political Science.

Representative Seifert is married with two children and works as an admissions counselor at Southwest Minnesota State University.
