McCain Doctrine

The McCain Doctrine is a pejorative phrase given to Arizona United States Senator John McCain's support for the Iraq War troop surge of 2007, coined by John Edwards. The term was used by Edwards at various rallies to describe an increase in U.S. troops in Iraq. Edwards notably used the terminology on This Week with George Stephanopoulos:[1]
