McQ is a 1974 crime/drama film starring John Wayne, Eddie Albert, Diana Muldaur, and Colleen Dewhurst. The film made extensive use of actual Seattle locations.

Seattle PD Detective Lieutenant Lon McQ (Wayne) investigates the murder of his longtime friend and partner. In so doing, he faces corruption in the police department related to illegal drugs.

Wayne turned down the lead in Dirty Harry a few years back although the producers originally chose Seattle to film there.

Features a young Roger E. Mosley as a pimp; the villain in the film (Santiago) portrayed by Al Lettieri was one of his final roles.

The film is noted for introducing the infamous MAC-10 machine pistol to the general public and creating a demand for it. [1]
