Measuring Receiver
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A measuring receiver, also known as measurement receiver, is a device used to perform traceable calibration of RF attenuators and RF signal generators. It is intended to accurately measure signal power level, degree of modulation (such as AM depth, FM/PM deviations), and modulation distortion with an exceptionally low level of uncertainty. Measuring receivers are widely used in metrology and calibration lab environments.
Some measuring receivers (such as Agilent’s N5531S) include a signal analyzer, power meter, and a sensor module to allow the instruments to be used together or individually for general-purpose measurement tasks.
