Memorial is Moonspell's seventh full-length album, released on April 24, 2006 by SPV. The album is available in three versions - a standard edition, a limited 'digipack' edition with the "Atlantic" bonus track, and the Portuguese edition which is the standard version with the "Phantom North" bonus track. A fourth edition of the album is to be released in December 2006, containing the Portuguese bonus track and a DVD with live recordings of songs from the album.

On January 16, 2007, Memorial was certified gold by the Associação Fonográfica Portuguesa for selling over 10,000 copies in Portugal. This is the first time a Portuguese heavy metal group receives this award.[1]

Each of the limited versions and the standard edition end with a different song, but on every version the final track ends with a 7 minute wolfs-howling outro ("The Sleep of the Sea"), hence there are actually two official versions of "Best Forgotten".
