The Metropolitan Building is a high-rise office building located at a triangular lot at 33 John R Street in downtown Detroit, Michigan, near Grand Circus Park.

The building was built in 1924 and finished in 1925. It stands at 15 stories and was once used for offices and jewelers. Today it is listed as planned for development for lofts by the city. It is designed in the neo-gothic architectural style. It is made mainly with brick, granite, and terra cotta.

• The Metropolitan Building has a triangular footprint, with the 'base' of the triangle along John R Street, across from the end of Farmer Street.
• The tower consists of a 12-story building, with a 3-story tower which holds office space on floors 13 and 14, and a water tank on the 15th floor.
• The building has three different roof levels, with the first and lowest lying at 141'-8" high, with a decorative cornice rising to a maximum height of 152'-5".
• The second and middle roof above the 13th floor lies at a height of 154'-2", with a cornice rising to a maximum height of 161'-8".
• The highest roof at the top of the 15th floor tower lies at a height of 173'-8", with the cornice pinnacles rising to a height of 182'-10".

• The building consists of a 12-story building, topped by a 3-story tower. The 15th floor in the tower contains the building's water tank.
