Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas is an animated Christmas television special made directly for video by The Walt Disney Company in 1999. It is split up into three segments.

Contents

Huey, Dewey and Louie wake up on Christmas morning and open up their presents even though they are supposed to wait for Daisy, Uncle Scrooge, and Aunt Judy. After they took they're new sleds from Uncle Donald (not reading the card) and go sleding, have Chrstmas dinner and sing carols, it was time for the boys to go to bed. The boys then wish that it would be Christmas every day, but after a few days later, they began to get sick of it. They then decide to change the day including swaping a live turkey with the cooked one which turned out to be a horrible Christmas. They then decided to make it the best Christmas day ever and the time loop stops.

  • Goofy in Have Yourself a Goofy Christmas

Goofy and Max were mailing out a letter to Santa. However as soon as they get home,Pete tells Max that Santa doesn't exist. Things get worse when Goofy poses as a Santa for some kids and Max finds out that he tricked him. Goofy is determined to prove to Max that Santa does exist and even stays up all Christmas Eve to keep an eye out for him. But after falling off the roof, Goofy has given hope of Santa coming so Max does everything that Goofy did to make Max happy. He then poses as Santa to cheer his dad up.

Mickey wants to get Minnie a gold chain for her one heirloom, her watch so he works at Crazy Pete's. Minnie wants to give Mickey something special so she works hard to get her special bonus. However, Pete takes all of Mickey's money and Minnie's bonus is nothing but fruit cake. After playing for a toy drive, Mickey has the idea that he can trade his harmonica for the chain. Back at Minnie's house, Mickey gives her the chain for her watch and Minnie gives him a case for his harmonica. Of course, the irony is that Minnie no longer has her watch -- just as Mickey no longer has his harmonica -- so the gifts are essentially useless. As in the classic "GIFT OF THE MAGI" upon which this adaptation -- penned by Richard Cray -- is based, the thought behind each gift is what counts.

This christmas special later spawned a computer-animated sequel, Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas, in 2004.

  • The characters in the story sing songs that they sing in the ending. For example, Donald and friends gathered around the Christmas tree and sing "We Wish you a Merry Christmas" at he end. Goofy sings Deck the Halls while thinking of what to put on his list and Mickey played Jingle Bells on his harmonica.
  • In Stuck on Christmas, everyone except Huey, Dewey and Louie are unaware of the time loop.
  • In The Gift of Magi, Mortimer calls Minnie: Jennie, Penny, and Winnie.
  • In Stuck on Christmas, Daisy made turkey for Christmas dinner every time, but after the worst Christmas, she starts making ham.
  • The first ending song, Deck the Halls was sung by SHeDAISY.

  • Goofy: Oh, you better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why, Santee Claus is coming to town.

Max: No he's not!

  • Goofy: And then, I'll snap a picture of him so you'll have the photographic evidence.

Max: Yeah, if you don't fall off the roof first.

  • Goofy: But I thought you be taller.

(Max stands up strait and pillow slips down) And you look slimer than you do in the pictures. Max:Well camera adds 50 pounds.
