Miguel Hidalgo is one of the 16 delegaciones (boroughs) into which Mexico's Federal District is divided.

Miguel Hidalgo is named in honour of the hero of the Independence of Mexico, Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla. The borough includes some of the most affluent parts of Mexico City, such as Lomas de Chapultepec and Polanco.

In the July 2003 local election, Miguel Hidalgo was one of only two delegaciones to elect a borough mayor from the National Action Party (Fernando Aboitiz) and again in the 2006 local election, a National Action Party candidate (Gabriela Cuevas) was elected as borough mayor (Jefe Delegacional).
