Mike George

Mike George is a British DJ. He was born in Herefordshire, and spent 10 years in the navy before discovering Hospital Radio. His first professional radio job was in Portsmouth.

George joined Radio Wyvern (now Wyvern FM) in Worcester, when the station opened in 1982 as the weekday Drivetime presenter.

After a short stint on a commercial station in Wales, George joined BBC Hereford & Worcester where he later took on the Weekday mid-morning show.

He then moved onto present the Weekday Breakfast show before retiring from the slot in mid 2005, when Howard Bentham took over.

He still remains on BBC Hereford & Worcester, presenting a Saturday morning Gardening programme between 9 & 11am & a Sunday afternoon music programme from 3-6pm.

In addition to this, he can also be heard covering various weekday presenters on both BBC Hereford & Worcester & BBC Radio Gloucestershire
