Mimoun Azaouagh

Mimoun Azaouagh (born November 17, 1982 in Benisidel) is a Moroccan-born German footballer. He plays for Schalke 04 as a midfielder.
He started his career with the junior team of FSV Frankfurt, and in 1999 he moved to FSV Mainz. He played during 2000/01 in the second division with Mainz. He transferred from the amateur team to the professional team in September 2002, and from this time was given a regular position in the team. When he helped them into the top division, he had played 48 games and scored four goals.
He missed the first three games of the season thanks to an illness, and in his second game which he played for the team he scored his first goal. During a game with VfL Wolfsburg on October 30, 2004 his playing career was curtailed severely by a clash with another player. At the end of the calendar year, however, he moved to FC Schalke 04, and later in the season was recompensed financially for the injury he suffered in October. He is not married and his Height is 5`9. Azaougagh's current contract runs out in 2009.
