The Minister of Industry (French: Ministre de l'Industrie) is the Minister of the Crown in the Canadian Cabinet who is responsible for overseeing the federal government's economic development and corporate affairs department, Industry Canada. Since August 14, 2007, the Minister of Industry has been the Hon. Jim Prentice. The Minister of Industry is also the minister responsible for Statistics Canada. By convention, the Minister of Industry also serves as the Registrar General of Canada.
