Minister of the Environment (Canada)

The Minister of the Environment (French: Ministre de l'Environnement) is the Minister of the Crown in the Canadian Cabinet who is responsible for overseeing the federal government's environment department, Environment Canada. The Minister is also responsible for overseeing Parks Canada and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency.

Noted environment ministers of the past have included Jack Davis, Roméo LeBlanc, Jean Charest, Stéphane Dion, Sheila Copps and David Anderson.

The current Minister of the Environment is John Baird, replacing Rona Ambrose, after a cabinet shuffle on January 4, 2007.
