Mizou

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Mizou is a grind used in Aggressive Inline Skating. It is a sole based trick done using both feet. The leading foot is placed in the sole position (with a sole plate resting on the object) and the trailing foot is placed in the backside position (with the heel of the foot facing the object). The mizou has been around for a long time and is one of the basic grinds done in Aggressive Skating.

There are many variants to the Mizou. Mizous can be done in the following ways;

The leading foot is placed in the 'topside' position, with the face of the frame being placed on top of the object as opposed to the sole plate.

The trick is essentially the same as a 'Sweatstance' apart from the grind is done 'alley-oop' which means grinding backwards.

The Cool Grind is a variation on the Mizou grind. The feet positions are the same apart from the leading foot which is grinding just on the heel area of the sole plate. This grind is also known as a rough mizou.

The Mistral is done just like a Mizou apart from the trailing foot is bent inwards, like in the 'royale' position (on the backslide plate).

The Misfit is a variation of the Mistral. A misfit is an alley-oop topside Mistral.
