Montana Senate

The Montana Senate is the upper house of the Montana State Legislature, the state legislative branch of the U.S. state of Montana. The body is composed of 50 senators, and, since the state general elections of November 2004, has had a Democratic majority. As of 2007, the officers of the Senate were:

  • President Mike Cooney (D)
  • President Pro Tempore Dan Harrington (D)
  • Majority Leader Carol Williams (D)
  • Majority Whip Lynda Moss (D)
  • Majority Whip Lane Larson (D)
  • Minority Leader Corey Stapelton (R)
  • Minority Whip Greg Barkus (R)
  • Minority Whip Dan McGee (R)
  • Secretary of the Senate John Mudd
  • Sergeant at Arms Clay Scott
