Montebuono is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Rieti in the Italian region Latium, located about 50 km north of Rome and about 20 km west of Rieti. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 944 and an area of 19.6 km2.[1]

The municipality of Montebuono contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Fianello and S.Andrea.

Montebuono borders the following municipalities: Calvi dell'Umbria, Collevecchio, Magliano Sabina, Tarano, Torri in Sabina.
