Montrose is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Its Local Government Area is the Shire of Yarra Ranges.

Montrose has a museum of the Australian author, May Gibbs, who created the Gumnut Babies.

Montrose is situated 37 km east of Melbourne at the foot of Mount Dandenong. Close to the Yarra Ranges, the Dandenong Ranges and the wineries of the Yarra Valley, it is a gateway to many tourist destinations, offering a variety of Bed and Breakfast venues for visitors.

Local churches, sporting clubs, schools (Billanook and Montrose Primary schools) and small shops surround the town centre, which hosts a weekend market.

Community Groups: Montrose & District Lions Club was formed in March 2006. Formal meetings are held monthly. New members always welcome.
