The Mortal Kombat Kard Game is a collectible card game released by Brady Games in 1996. The game is based on the Mortal Kombat video game series of the same name.

Similar to the video games, the objective of the card game is to win the Mortal Kombat Tournament. Players must determine how many matches will make up a tournament, and the player who wins a majority of these matches wins the game.
A player wins a match by defeating other Kombatants two out of three rounds. One can win by having the most Kombat Points left when time runs out or by knocking your opponents down to zero Kombat Points. Any round that ends in a draw or with both Kombatants at zero Kombat Points (when both Kombatants are knocked out at the same time) must be replayed.
The game consisted of a set of 300 unique cards each with a rarity level of either bronze (Common), silver (Uncommon), or gold (Rare). The cards were available in 60-card starter decks and 15-card booster packs.
Only characters appearing in the first two Mortal Kombat titles were included. Each character was given a symbol on their card representing their allegiance to either Earthworld (later called Earthrealm) or Outworld. Characters could also be neutral, having no ties to either world.
Characters: Johnny Cage, Liu Kang, Kano, Sonya Blade, Raiden, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Baraka, Jax, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Reptile, Smoke, Jade, Kintaro, Goro, Shang Tsung, Noob Saibot, and Shao Khan.
The game did not contain excessive violence like its video game counterparts. As such, many felt that it had no inherent edge over its competitors, such as Magic: The Gathering.
