Mosman Park is bounded by the Indian Ocean and the Fremantle railway line to the west, a line south of Johnston Street to the north, and the Swan River to the east and south. Almost all of Mosman Park is residential, although significant parklands exist at Buckland Hill and along the river and coast.[3]

At the ABS 2001 census, Mosman Park had a population of 7,260 people living in 3,750 dwellings, about half of which were detached houses on separate lots. Several mansions are located within the suburb. The ABS identified property and business services and health as the two main occupations.

Mosman Park is served by the Mosman Park and Victoria Street train stations. Various buses, including the CircleRoute, travel along Stirling Highway and through Mosman Park's eastern section. All services are operated by the Public Transport Authority.

Mosman Park is an established and affluent suburb. It consistently supports the Liberal Party at both federal and state elections, although less strongly so than other suburbs in the area.
