Royal Family of Morocco

Morocco's Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery announced the birth of Crown Prince Moulay Al-Hassan in a release on Thursday, May 8th, 2003 at 6:40am.[citation needed]

King Mohammed VI decided to name the Crown Prince, Moulay Hassan, after his father, King Hassan II. It was not usual practice before the birth of Crown Prince Moulay for the media to be allowed to photograph royal babies.[citation needed] However, the King broke precedent and allowed his son to be photographed, thus breaking a strict code of privacy, especially for children and wives, within the royal family of Morrocco.
