Mr. & Mrs. Bridge is a 1990 Merchant Ivory Film based on the novels by Evan S. Connell of the same name. It is directed by James Ivory, with a screenplay by Ruth Prawer Jhabvala and produced by Ismail Merchant)
The film which tells the story of a traditional family in Kansas City, Missouri's Country Club District during the 1930s and 1940s whose children try to rebel from their conservative father's upbringing.
Starring Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, with Blythe Danner, Simon Callow, Kyra Sedgwick, Robert Sean Leonard, Margaret Welsh and Austin Pendleton.
It was filmed entirely on location in Kansas City and Paris (Musée du Louvre, Moulin Rouge, Église Notre-Dame, etc...).
It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress (Joanne Woodward).
