Mt Scopus Memorial College

Mt Scopus Memorial College is an independent coeducational K-12 Jewish day school in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Fink Karp Ivany, the campus for 3-year-olds to Grade 2 is in Caulfield South, the Szalmuk Family Early Learning Centre for three and four year olds is in St Kilda, and the Gandel Campus for Grade 3 to Year 12 is in Burwood.
Mt Scopus was founded in 1949 in a building in St Kilda Road. In 1953 it moved to Burwood. It was started at a time when many Holocaust survivors came to Melbourne, and with a strong focus on Judaism, as well as engagement with the wider Australian community. It provides for traditional observances of Judaism through its structured and informal activities; the latter is managed by the Informal Jewish Education and Leadership Department.
Mt Scopus has its own philanthropic foundation which was established in 1987 to promote fundraising and charity work. The current campaign is called 'Our Shared Vision' and involves doing capital works to improve the campuses. In turn the College reaches out to the community every year. Money is also raised for special events such as for lifecycle events: Bat Mitzvah or a Bar Mitzvah. it also receives bequests and has endowments.
For the alumni, there is an online directory. There are 70 members from Israel, 45 from Britain and 20 from the USA.
Mt Scopus is part of the Eastern Independent Schools of Melbourne and competes in sports and debating.
