The music video for My Generation shows Limp Bizkit performing live on an acrylic glass stage (probably a reference to the line, "the sun don't even shine through our windowpane"), while other scenes show their fans being rebellious. During the breakdown of the song, each band member is shown separately, disappearing and reappearing. Professional wrestler Travis Tomko who worked as a bodyguard for the band at the time makes an appearance in the video pulling Fred Durst out of the crowd

  • "John Otto, take 'em to the Mathews bridge"

Refers to the Mathews Bridge in Jacksonville, Florida

  • "Do you know where you are / Welcome to the jungle, punk / take a look around"

Could possibly refer to the Guns N' Roses song 'Welcome to the Jungle' As well as the song 'Take a Look Around' also on Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.

  • "We downloaded the Shockwave / for all the ladies in the cave / to get your groove on"

Macromedia Shockwave was a popular multimedia player prior to the invention of Macromedia Flash. 'Getcha Groove On' is another song on Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.

  • "And maybe I'm the one who flew over / the cuckoo's nest / well guess who's next?"

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is a famous novel first published in 1962. Jack Nicholson starred in the film adaptation in 1975.
