List of Tales of Legendia NPCs and locations

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tales of Legendia (テイルズ オブ レジェンディア Teiruzu obu Rejendia?) is an RPG that was developed and published by Namco for the PlayStation 2 video game console. Following is a list of the two main locations in the game, with descriptions, along with the other major NPCs that either negatively or positively affect the main characters' storylines.

Main article: Tales of Legendia
Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.
Mainland
The mainland is all the land that exists in the world of Tales of Legendia. These portions of land are not visited in the regular game. All characters interact in The Legacy: the big ship that is easily mistaken as an island. In the mainland, the families and other important people and facilities from the main protagonists set new plots as they board the moving ship.
Orerines
This race is also found at the Legacy location. The Orerines are the common people in the Mainland and Legacy. They once waged a war against the Ferines and won. Ever since then, Orerines and Ferines have stayed apart from each other. The Orerines are users of both iron and crystal eres—same as the Ferines. The Orerines appearance are those of humans with varying skin and hair colors, while the Ferines are different. The Orerines have human limitations as well. They are also called "The People of the Land" by the Ferines.
Ferines
This race is also found at the Legacy location. The Ferines are fewer in number, but are also scattered throughout the Mainland and the Legacy. They once waged a war against the Orerines but lost. Ever since that, the Orerines and Ferines have been staying apart from each other, bearing a small hate towards the Orerines. The Ferines are users of both iron and crystal eres—same as the Orerines. The Ferines appearance and abilities are different from that of the Orerines. As implied by the game, all Ferines are white with blonde hair and with blue to black eyes—much like the elves are. They can also breathe underwater and their hair can glow. This earns them the nicknames of "The People of the Water", "The Shining One", and "The Radiants". It is said that the Ferines originated from another world.
Eren
This race is also found at the Legacy location. An Eren is essentially someone who can use eres regardless of whether they they are iron or crystal eres. One who uses iron eres (special attacks) is called an Iron Eren, and one who uses crystal eres (magical spells) is called a Crystal Eren. An Eren cannot be both, but can be either. Not everybody is fit to use either; that is why being an Eren is quite an exceptional quality. During the era of The Kingdom of Terises, it was thought to be common for everyone to use eres. The Iron Erens have the ability to "adapt" and combine their other moves and form new moves. Unfortunately, Crystal Erens don't have this ability, and therefore, they cannot combine.
Holy Kingdom of Rexalia
The Holy Kingdom of Rexalia is an empire supported by Will Raynard. They also have other civilian-trained armies in case of emergencies such as the war against Valclav at the bridge, in which they ally themselves with the Ferines to stop his plans of attacking the Holy Kingdom of Gadoria and take ownership of the Legacy, which has been defined as no nation's property.
Holy Alliance
The Holy Alliance maintains the safety of the ocean by dealing with the numerous monsters that live there. This group there is called the "Alliance Marines". This is where Senel originated from.
Senel Coolidge
Senel is one of the Alliance Marines in charge of these missions. He uses Iron Eres, which he has mastered through martial arts, and is an adept swimmer and excellent boat captain due to his training in that group. Senel became capable of this after becoming war orphaned, being sent to military school, and when the people found out about him being an Eren. After that, Senel took part in the Vaclav's Army in a operation to capture the Merines, but he failed his mission and became Shirley's "brother". Senel is a playable character and is the main protagonist of the game.
Holy Kingdom of Gadoria
The Holy Kingdom of Gadoria is the home country of Chloe Valens. Chloe vowed to serve her country and clean the reputation of the House of Valens. Baltoga is the capital of the empire, located at the base of mount Zeriques. The Gadoria Empire is at war with the Crusand Empire. After the efforts of the party, the Rexalian soldiers and the Ferines warriors, the Kingdom turns to monopolization, claiming victory and capturing Shirley in terms of treason. Nevertheless, it was only a scheme to use the Merines' powers for themselves.
House of Valens
The House of Valens is a well known name of the once-noble family of proud knights.
Sir Valens and Miss Valens
The House of Valens was stripped of its title of Knight House the day bandits killed their residents. A raid during a stormy night ended their existence. The House of Valens was and still is known very well—even along other nations and empires—as a once-noble and proud family of knights. The only survivor was their sole daughter Chloe Valens.
Chloe Valens
Chloe Valens is the only survivor of the massacre at the House of Valens, in which she lost her parents at the hand of a mysterious man. She possesses the ability to wield a blade very skillfully, and uses Iron Eres to aid her abilities. She has reached the Legacy in order to find the man who murdered her parents. She forced herself to follow the path of knighthood, even if she is not really a knight. She still filters out her true feminine side just as the young lady that she is. Chloe suffers from hydrophobia. This disease was most probably induced at a young age of twelve, when the bandits killed her family in front of her—a rightful example of childhood trauma. Therefore, Chloe hates riding on boats, getting near lakes and walking on rainy days. Chloe is a playable character.
Crusand Empire
The Crusand Empire is another military empire that wants the Merines under their power. Valclav led his forces onto the ship and declared war against the Kingdom of Gadoria. Their plans fail after the Holly Alliance defeats Valclav before he has a chance to destroy the Gadorian capital Baltoga.
Vaclav Bloud
Japanese voice actor: Tesshō Genda; English voice actor: Daran Norris. Vaclav is the current Prince of Crusand and the third leader of the Crusand Empire. He led his troops to the Legacy in order to capture the Merines and use her powers to fire the Nerifes Canyon at Baltoga, the capital of Gadoria. For many years he tried to create a being with powers like the Merines and executed hundreds of Ferines before capturing Shirley. Three years ago, Senel Coolidge was a member of his forces. His first solo mission was to capture Shirley, and thus began the friendship with her and her sister. He boarded the ship along with his elite force The Three Terrors: Melanie, Cashel and Stingle (see below). Though he captured Stella and Shirley, he was ultimately defeated by Senel and the rest of the group.
The Three Terrors
The Three Terrors are the elite forces of Valclav's army onboard the ship of the Legacy. They protect the route inside the bridge towards Valclav and the captured Merines and her sister, though one battles Senel at the exit of the secret passage before they are held captive.
Melanie the Crimson
Japanese voice actor: Satou Yuuko; English voice actor: Kari Wahlgren. Melanie's last name indicates that she is a user of Crystal Eres of the fire type. Melanie does all the talking and takes her job very rightfully and with full loyalty. Melanie engages Senel's group most often, although she hardly battles most of those times.
Cashel the Shadow
As his last name implies, Cashel is a master of disguise, specializing in confusing his opponents by creating multiple shadows of himself and moving with great speed. He jokes with his enemies and draws pleasure from it. He tried to psychologically weaken Moses by saying he murdered his boys at their camp in the Forest of No Return. He is also outsmarted by Jay, who possesses superior skills. Cashel originally ran from the party, but was eventually caught and defeated by Jay. Cashel was also thought to have personally killed all of Moses' bandits, though it was later revealed that Csaba (Moses's most trusted friend) led them all to safety.
Stingle the Vicious
Stingle uses a longsword and is adept at slashing his enemies quickly. He is the last to join the Three Terrors, and also the most quiet. Mysteriously, he often helps his enemies. He engages the enemy at the top of the bridge but escapes before Chloe has a chance to settle things with him.
The Legacy
The Legacy is a floating ship often mistaken for an island. It was discovered only fifteen years ago and any further details regarding its purpose, sailing route or where it docks is unknown. It was supposed that an ancient civilization created it, but they are now extinct. The ship's surface has been overtaken by natural-forming mountains, lakes, rivers, ponds, caves, cliffs, hollows, and other physical aspects of nature. Those visiting the ship have also created a port and a town: Werites Beacon and Port on Rage.
Orerines
This race is also found at the Mainland location. The Orerines are the common people of the Mainland and Legacy. They once waged a war against the Ferines and won. Ever since then, the Orerines and Ferines have stayed apart from each other. The Orerines are users of both iron and crystal eres, same as the Ferines. The Orerines' appearance resemble that of humans with varying skin and hair color and have human limitations as well, while the Ferines are different. The Orerines are also called "The People of the Land" by the Ferines.
Ferines
This race is also found at the Mainland location. The Ferines are fewer in number but are also scattered throughout the Mainland and the Legacy. They once waged a war against the Orerines but lost. Ever since that, the Orerines and Ferines have been staying apart from each other, carrying a small hate towards the Orerines. The Ferines are users of both iron and crystal eres—same as the Orerines. The Ferines' appearance and abilities are different from those of the Orerines. As implied in the game, all Ferines are white with blonde hair and blue to black eyes—much like elves are. They can also breathe underwater and their hair can glow. This earns them the nicknames "The People of the Water", "The Shining One, and "The Radiants". It is said that the Ferines originated at another world.
Eren
This race is also found at the Mainland location.
The Kingdom of Terises
The Kingdom of Terises was an ancient civilization that is now long lost in time. Their inhabitants left many structures hidden, like the bridge and the Nerifes Cannon. It is said that the Ferines are their descendants, bearing their powers. The reason for this kingdom's extinction is, as of yet, an unknown mystery. Separate from the human language, they had a language of their own, known only by them. This language is called Relares. Norma seems to have researched this ancient language and managed to decipher it through thorough study. Shirley, however, like all Ferines and descendants of the Kingdom of Terises, is able to decipher it with ease.
Werites Beacon
Werites Beacon is a town erected by those who have visited the Legacy in its early years of discovery. This town is where most of the main characters live, as well as some others related to them. Among the places to visit are: Madam Musette's house; The Bandit's camp; the cemetery; the main plaza; the hospital; Will's house; Senel's house; the item, weapon, armor, bakery and customization shops; the town's inn, tavern and a fighting arena, and the Werites Lighthouse, among other locations of lesser importance.
Lady Musette
Lady Musette is the chief of this town, created by those who earlier visited the Legacy. With her permission as arranged by Will and Isabella, the Bandits were able to reside in Werites Beacon after Valclav had chased them from their former homes in the Bandits Lair and in the Forest of No Return. She also offered shelter to Shirley and Harriet until things calmed down and it is also in her house that Will received her orders as well as the Bantam Bouncers, Curtis and Isabella.
Raynard Family
The Raynard Family is Will's family. They now live in Werites Beacon.
Will Raynard
Will is the sheriff of Werites Beacon and a natural historian. Will uses crystal eres and is the eldest of the group, making him a wise man. He was exiled from his homeland and ended in the Legacy. He also deals with the information between the different factions and people in the game. Will assembled their group in the battle against Valclav's forces and was named the 30th Platoon. Will is a playable character.
Amelia Campbell
Amelia is Will's wife and Harriet's mother. She ran off with Will to the Legacy and started their love affair there. It was because of her parents' denial that he was exiled. She was left with her baby and Will could not see her. When she died recently, her daughter Harriet decided to find her father with whom she is not pleased because she thinks he abandoned her and her mother on purpose.
Harriet Raynard Campbell
Harriet is the daughter of Will and came to the Legacy in order to find her father, who she refers to as "that criminal". Throughout the game, Harriet—only nine years old—refuses to accept Will as her father and lives with Lady Musette. She has a hard time trying to accept him, and it is because of several characters' intervention that she manages to call him "father" and reunite with him. Their parents found a rare flower on the Legacy and gave it their own name. This name was given to her as well.
The Bantam Bouncers
The Bantam Bouncers are the protectors of Werites Beacon. They sing and fight in the name of love and ban all acts of violence and rude behavior among citizens and travelers.
Curtis
English voice actor: Grant George. Curtis is the leader of the two members of the Bantam Bouncers and is secretly also the chief commander of the Rexalia elite guards. He always fights for love and also likes to sing alongside Isabella. He directed the Rexalia civilian army to the war against Valclav. He is also a very good friend of Senel and always calls him brother. He was even offered a place in the Bantam Bouncers.
Isabella
English voice actor: Wendee Lee. Isabella is the other member of The Bouncers who protects the town of Werites Beacon. She rarely talks, only agreeing with Curtis using the words "Yes, Curtis." She and Will arranged with Lady Musette for the bandits to live in town after being driven off by Valclav’s troops.
Apothecaries
The Apothecaries is a small family consisting of the father and his daughter who came to find a cure for a specific disease.
Arnold Alcott
Arnold arrives at the Legacy during the events of Chloe's character quest and settles there for the rest of the game. He lives in the hospital at Werites Beacon, executing his great skills as an apothecary. His reason for traveling to the Legacy is to find a rare plant that can cure his daughter's disease, which appears to be similar to asthma. Alcott is really Stingle the Vicious, a deception forgiven by Chloe after some time because of Elsa.
Elsa Alcott
Elsa is Alcott's daughter and a fan of Chloe Valens. She has a disease that her father wishes to cure at all costs and in the least amount of time possible. Chloe and Senel help them when they arrive in Port on Rage and ever since, Elsa is fascinated with Chloe. They develop a strong friendship to the point of making Chloe forgive Alcott so she would not suffer. Elsa also mentions other things happening to her while she is asleep, like drooling, snoring, grinding her teeth and talking in her sleep.
Bakery
The Bakery is a shop were you can bake breads and buy ingredients of any kind. There is also the Family of Bakers, a member of which randomly visits Senel in random locations.
Mimi Baker
Japanese voice actor: Akemi Kanda. Mimi Baker ("Mimmy Bread" in Japanese) is a young lady of 22 years old and the "special person", as Norma recalls, that hides in random places where the Party least expects it. She also calls herself the "28th Wonder Baker". Mimi has a tendency to fall every time she leaves the scene and rewards Senel with a recipe for baking different bread every time she is met with. Mimi is never seen in the Bakery Shop. Mimi also has a father called Bread who runs his own shop in the Mainland called "Bread's Bread", and a brother and sister called Coppe and Cornet respectively.
Village of the Ferines
The Village of the Ferines is where all the Ferines on board the Legacy live. It is a quiet town camouflaged by the water in order to prevent entrance to the Orerines. This is also Shirley's foster home before Maurits decides to pour his revenge over the Orerines.
Maurits
English voice actor: Kim Strauss. Maurits is the leader of the Ferines on board the Legacy. He allies with Senel and Curtis in the war against Valclav to rescue the Merines. After the war, everyone agrees that Shirley should go live with the Ferines and Maurits convinces Shirley to try the Rite of Ascension so that she can turn into a true Merine. After that, he rebels against Senel's group and forces Shirley to cover the entire world with water so that their race can live peacefully. He later merges with the spirit of Nerifes but is defeated and then recognizes that this is not what the Great Nerifes desired.
Walter Delques
Japanese voice actor: Takahiro Sakurai; English voice actor: Paj Crank. Walter is the leader of the main guards that protect the Merines. He is the least friendly of the Ferines and often talks harshly to the Party because of all the pressure placed on him. Walter battles Senel several times throughout the game and is under the Merines Trail until she is safe. Walter is also the leader of the Automata force in the battle of the Bridge. Later, in the rebellion of the Ferines, he commands the automatons to stop Senel's group using the Crystal found on the Man-Eating Ruins. Walter can call up Zephir monsters and also generate wings to fly.
Stella Telmes
English voice actor: Jennifer Hale. Stella is Senel's first love and Shirley's sister. Ever since she saw him she fell in love with him even knowing that Senel was a soldier sent to capture her sister Shirley. Stella held the attack to her village while Senel escaped with Shirley. After this, Stella was thought to be dead but was captured alive by Valclav's army. Stella has been seen alive by Senel at the Ruins of Frozen Light. This only serves to fuel his rage towards Valclav. Later, Stella is used in conjunction with Shirley to fire the Nerifes Canyon twice. The first shot destroyed Mount Zeriques. Dying Valclav activated the Canyon but Stella's Teriques averted the shot, destroying both the cannon and her Teriques. Senel is sorrow stricken by this but Stella is too weak and leaves the world, saying that Shirley has an amazing power to make others happy and should use it well. She rests in Werites Beacon's cemetery.
Shirley Fennes
Shirley is Senel's foster sister and the true blood sister of Stella. She is too naive to show her true feelings for Senel, until helped by Fenimore. Shirley becomes part of the Merines and the only hope for her people by will of Stella. Before she is safe, Senel does the impossible by rescuing her, even if that meant sacrificing his own life to protect what's left of Stella. She decides to go with Senel to Werites Beacon and makes good friends with Harriet and Lady Musette, along with Chloe and the others. Shirley can also generate Teriques. Shirley is a playable character.
Fenimore Xelhes
Fenimore is Thyra's twin sister. She is captured and held captive with Shirley at Valclav's secret hideout. She, as a Ferine, trusts Shirley, and they are eventually saved by Senel and the others in The Waterways. Fenimore becomes the only friend Shirley has ever had and she shares everything important with her. Shirley is sad when Fenimore dies at the Altar of the Sea, protecting her from the Gadorian Forces. Afterwards, Shirley became a strong woman. The automatons that always followed her lies useless at the side of her grave. The automaton was protective of her and now is shut down because it failed its primary objective, and this its reason to keep functioning is no more.
Thyra Welhes
Thyra, Fenimore's twin sister, did not believe in Shirley at the beginning. She questioned her living in Werites Beacon and not with them. Thyra once accused her that her sister had died because of Shirley. They waited for the Merines for 4,000 years, and now all she does is live among the enemy. Thyra's life is saved by them once and the thrust towards the Orerines slowly builds within her.
Ferines Names
  • Telmes, "Guiding Star" (Stella)
  • Fennes, "One Who Prays" (Shirley)
  • Xelhes, "Blessing" (Fenimore)
  • Welhes, "Hope" (Thyra)
  • Delques, "Black Wings" (Walter)
Merines
While the Merines is not a character, it is used to denote the duty of the highest Ferines of all. The Merines' duty, as explained in the game, is to save the Ferines and release them of the yoke of the Orerines. A Merines is a powerful Ferines that can operate machinery like the Nerifes Canyon and the Wings of Light. The Merines is also called the agent of Nerifes and can hear the voice of the sea. It was then that a former Merines was entrusted with Nerife's power and blessing. Shirley is the Merines and the hope of the Ferines after the previous Merines died 4,000 years ago.
Oresoren Village
The Oresoren Village consists of a small race of otters that can talk. They are pretty small and most girls see them as very cute—as if they were furry toys. The Oresoren also have their own language. They seem to use the word "ors" for some short statements. They clearly speak human language and they are very cooperative too. They are the only family Jay has and is always looking out for their safety. The Oresoren mostly live underground. They once lived in the Secret Passage but were driven out by the Long Long Demon (actually, a Dinowyrm). They now live in their new village past Raging Bay. The Oresoren are a part of the Legacy and so they also offered to fight Valclav. Jay denied this and instead went with Senel's group and moved the Oresoren to rear support in their formation.
Pippo
English voice actor: Colleen O'Shaughnessey. Pippo is the first Oresoren Senel and the others met him at the entrance to the old Oresoren village. He is dressed in blue with a blue hat. He is a bard and poet. Once inside, they met with another Oresoren called Quppo. Pippo plays the harp and takes charge of babysitting Harriet: "Softening a girl's heart is what we bards do best." Jay lives with him and both Poppo and Quppo. They eat, play and sleep together. He also mentions their ancient hero in The Oresoren Lore, Capoeiracco, in the Quiet Lands. He and his brothers also discover the tram in the Quiet Lands used to get to Mirage Palace.
Quppo
English voice actor: R. Martin Klein. Quppo is the second Oresoren they meet while talking in the old Oresoren village. He is a martial artist and the strongest among the Oresoren. He has a red cap to distinguish himself and imparts courage to Chloe and Senel by saying: "Those eyes. You too have the eyes of a warrior, just like me." This is confirmed and praised by them after Senel and the others defeat the Dinowyrm that haunted their village to which they refer to as the Long Long Demon outside of the Secret Passage. Both Pippo and Quppo give their Gemini shells to Senel and Shirley. They are a symbol of love for those close to each other and lets Senel and Shirley communicate their feelings when they are apart.
Poppo
Poppo is the third Oresoren they meet at the crags. He jumps out of the water wearing a yellow cap and carrying a wrench. He is the inventor of Oresoren who built the Popo MK2, an underwater submarine like a ship. His reason for sinking was that a goat had attacked him. He asks Senel, Norma and Harriet to escort him to the Oresoren village. Along the way they get attacked by the "goat", which turns out to be another Dinowyrm. Once they cross the crags, they meet with Will, Chloe, Jay and talk outside the village where the rest of the Oresoren appear and it is discovered that Pippo, Poppo and Quppo are all brothers.
Capoeiracco
Capoeiracco is the hero of the Oresoren Lore. Specifically, Pippo calls him a poet. Capoeiracco is said to have discovered the Trail Across the Heavens and to have rested in a calm land with a calm sea like the Quiet Lands (referred to as the Fallen Lands by the Ferines where the blessings of Nerifes can not reach). Capoeiracco was an adventurer and traveled to many different places.
Jay
Jay lives with the Oresoren after he escaped from the mainland where he was part of a ninja organization, led by Solon. Now, with his amazing skills of speed, he is a strategic information dealer. He may seem too cold but this is because he was raised to kill and never knew love. Solon took him in after his parents left him in a basket. Jay's only possession is a bell, used to remind him that he once had a family. Now, slowly, the Oresoren and the rest of his friends try to warm his heart, little by little. He often says cold and cynical things, especially to Moses, who ruined his plan to rescue Shirley at the Waterways. Jay is a playable character.
The Bandits' Lair
The Bandits' Lair is their hideout after they reached the Legacy in search of treasure. The hideout has both ground and underground levels and is armed with numerous traps to confound any trespassers. The bandits group follows Moses's orders and each of them considers the other as family.
Moses Sandor
Moses is the leader of the bandits and his many henchmen often cause trouble throughout the ship. Moses and his boys left the hideout after Melanie the Crimson led an attack to capture Shirley. When Senel arrived on the Legacy, he got busy fighting Walter and then Moses snatched the recovering Shirley and ran off with his pet galf, Giet. Moses comes from a tribe of beast tamers. The monster that he trained was Giet—a type of galf. After he learned that the Merines was in fact Senel's sister, he decided to aid Senel with rescuing her. Moses is a playable character.
Csaba
Csaba is the sub-leader of the bandits while Moses is not around and is the most trusted bandit Moses has in his team. He reports everything back to Moses when he returns. Moses thought him and the other bandits were eliminated at the Forest of No Return but actually, Csaba evacuated all the bandits safely.
Giet
Giet is Moses's galf pet. A galf is a type of monster that resembles a wolf or a dog. Specifically, he is a grand galf, which means "The King of the Galves". Norma calls him "Spot" and "dog" at the same time. Giet always follows Moses around and is present in the party as long as Moses is there. During Moses's character quest, Giet leaves Moses and becomes wild. Moses has a hard time both accepting it and living without Giet, but he finally accepts. Moses leaves Giet in the Quiet Lands.
The Treasure Hunters
There are many treasure hunters in the Legacy, many of which reside in Werites Beacon.
Norma Beatty
Norma is a young Treasure Hunter who came to the Legacy in order to find the Everlight—a stone said to grant any wish. Sven and Zamaran also looked for it but were unable to find it. Norma is a very cheerful girl and proposed to help Senel if he could talk to Shirley about her brooch. The brooch eventually breaks and Norma decides to stay with Senel to stop the Cataclysm and in order to keep searching for the Everlight. Norma also hates Zamaran and had run away from her home in the Mainland because her parents did not pay much attention to her. Norma is a playable character. Norma developed a set of nicknames for the characters she speaks with:
  • Senel: "Senny"
  • Will: "Teach"
  • Chloe: "C"
  • Moses towards her: "Bubbles"
  • Shirley towards her: "Gnorma"
  • Zamaran towards her: "Monkey"
  • Moses: "Red"
  • Jay: "JJ"
  • Shirley: "Shirl"
  • Grune: "G Girl"
  • Zamaran: "Old Man"
  • Sven: "Goofball"
  • Pippo: "Pippy"
  • Poppo: "Poppy"
  • Quppo: "Cutie"
  • Nerifes: "Nessy" ("Quiet Nerifes"), or "Nelly" ("Raging Nerifes")
  • Fenimore: "Fen Fen"
  • Thyra: "Tulip"
  • Walter: "Wally"
  • Giet: "Spot"
  • Harriet: "Hattie"
  • Elsa: "Ellie"
  • Arnold Alcott: "Arnie"
  • The Bantam Bouncers: "The BBs"
  • Solon: "So-So"
Sven
Sven was also a Treasure Hunter who searched for the Everlight. Unfortunately, he died in the process. The writings in the chamber of the Crystal Forest are in the Relares language and were written by him. He left the Everlight there for her to find. He was Norma's teacher and Zamaran was his teacher. Sven never gave up his dream, which is why he was kicked out by his teacher—because even when other people said that the Everlight did not exist, he said he would look for it anyway. Sven took Norma in after she left her parents, and she stood with him because they shared the same level of goofiness. Sven paid for her studies at a High Level Academy after finding out she could use crystal eres. Sven always believed in her and when he died, Norma left to fulfill her master's last wish. Sven's grave is located at the Werites Beacon's cemetery.
Zamaran
Zamaran is Sven's master and the one who kicked him out of his school. He gave up his dream to find the Everlight after becoming blind in one of his journeys to find it. He then traveled to the Legacy to find the girl that he called a little monkey because of her wiggly attitude. He wanted to smack some sense into her so she does not suffer the same fate as Sven, but he failed. Later on, he is shown the Everlight after Norma finds it and takes him to it. Norma cures his blindness with the Everlight's only wish so he can acknowledge her, respect Sven's dream, and fulfill his own dream.
The Ninjas
The Ninjas are a group of assassins that arrived in the Legacy under the leadership of Solon. Solon searches for Jay, a former member of the tribe that escaped some time ago. Also, Solon wants to capture Shirley and sell her to the country with the highest bid.
Solon
Solon is a very mysterious man. He seems to draw fun and pleasure from the misfortune and death of others. He is, in fact, more cynical than Jay. Jay was abandoned at birth and Solon took him in. He trained Jay arduously in the ninja arts. He would often say to him that he is not a person but an instrument for killing, and that he needs no family. He has strong abilities and they are eventually powered by the black mist. His ninja members are hidden in the Secret Passage at the old Oresoren village.
The Goddesses
There are a number of goddesses in the world of Legendia. Each of them has a different purpose.
Grune, the Weaver of Time
Grune is the last member to join Senel's party, besides Shirley. She is a mysterious yet very attractive woman about which little is known. She wears a green cocktail dress, leaving very little to the imagination. The girls often complain about Grune's breast size in a specific cut scene, arguing that they wish to be like Grune. She was found in a small crevasse at the Man Eating Ruins while sleeping innocently. Moses found her and is the one who fell for her beauty although Jay, Will and Senel like her too but don't show it in public. Grune seems to be in a dormant state when first met, leading the party to the conclusion that she is an amnesiac and also crazy, dumb, childish, clueless and innocent, among other things.
Dormant State
The Dormant State of Grune is the best for friendship. After she wakes up, the party wishes she never had. Grune always smiles—even in the harshest of times—and causes a feeling of peace when around others. Grune is often clueless as to her surroundings and even her enemies, and would say: "Come and play with me," or "What was I just doing?" While in this state, she suffers from both amnesia and short-term memory loss and thus forgets what she was doing seconds before and can only remember her name. After every battle with a shadow, she gets a slight headache, forcing her to remember the whole endeavor, bit by bit. Also, after each time, a summoned spirit appears—one which only Grune can see and hear. They refer to her as "Master" and then sleep until she can plant their seed and wait until she fully awakens. Because of this and the fact that when Grune kneels down to plant a seed, she sings "Let us take a little seed, plant it gently, water it well. Little seedling nestled in the ground, grow up safe and sound," Norma started the joke: "Looks like Grune is now part of the 'let's take good care of the plants' society."
Awakened State
After a battle against Schwartz, the party members help Grune with their eres, eventually returning her whole memory and purpose. When she is awakened, she exhibits her wisdom about situations and becomes a little harsher in what she says to her enemies: "Weaklings, stay back!" or "So, you want to be a nuisance?" Her eventual purpose is to stop Schwartz. That is the very purpose of her existence. She is known by her counterpart Schwartz as "the weaver of time". Because of the high level of danger there is, Grune advises the party not to follow her, but they consider her as part of a family and decide to follow her and help her anyway, even if it means their end. Grune also changes her voice cast when she awakens, revealing her true potential and personality.
Schwartz, the Guide to Nothingness
Schwartz is Grune's counterpart and is referred to as the "Guide to Nothingness." Schwartz and Grune are one and the same and therefore, she looks identical to Grune. Schwartz wears a black set of armor and a black mask, with only her nose and mouth visible. She uses a halberdier-like weapon and plans on reducing the world to nothingness by wish of the very humans. Schwartz's means of power comes from absorbing the fear in the humans; the more fear, the more powerful she becomes. Schwartz starts by creating earthquakes that cause chaos over the land—the only natural power that minimizes the death of humans but increases their fear for her. She manifests herself using a black mist that can crystallize her into physical form and attack. She often powers monsters or fuses them to create powerful enemies and may eat a person's fear and transform it into a crystallized version of him or her that represents their fear. Schwartz can be found in her own world, which consists of a distorted version of the real world called "The Cradle of Time". Once she is defeated, she disappears and the Cradle of Time also falls. Being one and the same, if Schwartz disappears, then so will Grune. Before dying, Schwartz replies that she appeared because mankind desired it and that they would see her again if they wished. Senel answered that such a thing will not happen and, when they escape, Grune follows her counterpart's demise. Grune acts as she first met and requested that everyone say farewell to her with their greatest smiles. Granting her final request, with the last of her powers, she summons the spirits she planted that are a part of her to watch over them and says that she enjoyed everything she learned, and that she will never forget. Then Grune turns her into a bunch of feathers and they disperse high into the sky. As a last farewell, the party yells her favorite phrase when she was in the dormant state: "Charge!"
Nerifes, the Will of the Sea
Among the crystallized shadows that Schwartz create are: Dark Senel; Shirley; Chloe; Will; Moses; Giet (possessed as Rabid Giet); Jay; Norma; Valclav; and taking possession of Solon's body in Jay's Character Quest.
