Nakhon Si Thammarat mountain range

The Nakhon Si Thammarat mountain range (Thai เทือกเขานครศรีธรรมราช) is a mountain range on the Malay peninsula in southern Thailand, running in north-south direction. The hills begin to the north with the island Ko Pha Ngan in the Gulf of Thailand, and end with the Ko Tarutao archipelago in the Andaman Sea. The mountain range is the continuation of the Phuket mountain range, which runs in same direction about 100 km further west. To the south it is continued by the Sankalakhiri mountain range.
The mountains are named after the town Nakhon Si Thammarat, located east of the range. It also sometimes named Banthat mountain range (เทือกเขาบรรทัด), which is however also used for the Chanthaburi mountain range.
The highest elevation is the 1835 m high Khao Luang. Several smaller rivers originate in the mountain range, the Tapi River is the largest by far. Another larger river is the Trang River.
