Nandi District

Nandi District is an administrative district in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya. Its capital town is Kapsabet. The district has a population of 578,751 (1999 census) [1].

The topography of the district is dominated by Nandi Hills. Local people are mostly of the Nandi tribe.

Nandi District is famous for producing many Kenyan runners, including Kipchoge Keino, Henry Rono, Moses Tanui and Bernard Lagat.
