Necroticism - Descanting the Insalubrious is the third album from the band Carcass, released in 1991 through Earache Records. It could be described as a concept album, as many of the tracks describe economical ways to dispose of dead bodies ("Pedigree Butchery", for example, proposes that dead humans be turned into pet food, "Carneous Cacoffiny" proposes to use human body parts as musical instruments and in "Inpropagation" human remains are used as fertiliser).

Contents

  1. "Inpropagation" – 7:07
  2. "Corporeal Jigsore Quandary" – 5:48
  3. "Symposium of Sickness" – 6:56
  4. "Pedigree Butchery" – 5:17
  5. "Incarnate Solvent Abuse" – 5:00
  6. "Carneous Cacoffiny" – 6:43
  7. "Lavaging Expectorate of Lysergide Composition" – 4:03
  8. "Forensic Clinicism / The Sanguine Article" – 7:11
Note that "Corporeal Jigsore Quandary" and "Incarnate Solvent Abuse" are misspelt on the CD as "Corporal Jigsore Quandary" and "Incarnated Solvent Abuse".

The Japanese edition was released on April 21, 1992 through Toy's Factory, but it is now out-of-print. It has an original Japanese name Shitai Aikou-Heki (屍体愛好癖), which means dead-body loving habit. Also, in this version, every track has the original Japanese title and lyrics translated in Japanese. These song titles may be translated imperfectly, and thus include some errors.

  1. "Shitai de hana wo sakase mashou" (屍体で花を咲かせましょう) - meaning "Let us make flowers bloom with corpses."
  2. "Jintai jigsaw pazzle" (人体ジグソーバズル) - Jintai means human flesh.
  3. "Ekima koukyou-kyoku dai-ni-ban" (疫魔交響曲第2番) - meaning "Symphony of Sickness No. 2".
  4. "Yuisho tadashiki tosatsu-jou" (由緒正しき屠殺場) - meaning "historic slaughterhouse".
  5. "Ryuusan dorodoro nandemo tokasu" (硫酸どろどろ何でも溶かす) - meaning "Thick suluric acid dissolves everything."
  6. "Nikutai fukyou-waon" (肉体不協和音) - meaning "corporal cacophony".
  7. "Rizerujin-san ni yoru outo, tosha-butsu ni yoru senjou" (リゼルジン酸による嘔吐、吐瀉物による洗浄) - meaning "vomiting by the lysergic acid, washing by the vomit".
  8. "Wakaki rinshou-ka-i no shouzou" (若き臨床科医の肖像) - meaning "portrait of a young clinician".
