Irfhan Rajani, Co-Founder, President & Chief Executive Officer Irfhan Rajani is a technology visionary who built his reputation with the success of three Technology companies in the past 16 years. Early in his career, Rajani co-founded Zentra, a network storage integration firm. In the mid-1990s he co-founded TeleBackup Systems, which developed software that enabled off-site computer backup over the Internet. In 1999, TeleBackup was sold to Veritas Software, a global leader in data storage systems, for in excess of US$143 million.

A year later, Mr. Rajani founded Apparent Networks, a software company tackling the performance issues surrounding the convergence of voice, video and storage on one network. With Rajani at the helm, Apparent Networks completed the largest venture capital financing for a new Canadian software company during 2002 and continues to grab industry-wide attention. Recognized as a Deloitte Fast 50 Company to Watch and recipient of BCTIA’s Excellence in Product Innovation Award, Apparent Networks counts many of the world’s largest technology companies as customers. Rajani currently serves as the company's President and CEO.

In life, Rajani strongly believes that what the community gives to you, you should "give back" to the community. Rajani's belief is clearly evident in the community groups he supports. Using patented technology a prototype version of a novel network intelligence system tool was developed and named appareNet. The first release of the software was tested successfully at several sites in comparison to existing tools.

During initial product development considerable consulting work was undertaken with clients using the new appareNet tool. This resulted in numerous difficult problems being resolved successfully, greatly enhancing the credibility of the tool.

Apparent Networks now (2007) has more than 50 employees and has just launched a new product called appCritical.

The main products are appareNet available in several versions tailored to customer requirements and appCritical.

One of the focus areas for the appareNet network intelligence system has been voice over IP, greatly enhancing the quality of customer systems.

Research is headed up by Chief Scientist Loki Jorgenson, whom has spearheaded several innovative initiatives[1] for the company. Some of the projects have included participants from Internet2 and CANARIE.
