The New Jersey Sharks are a rugby league team from Levittown, Pennsylvania, near the state of New Jersey in the United States. They were founded in 1997.

Following the amount of interest caused by an American Rugby league student team that returned from the Student Rugby League World Cup in England. along with local Rugby Union players and athletes, formed the New Jersey Sharks.

There was a desire for more Rugby league in the United States, the New Jersey Sharks were formed with players from the student side, local Rugby Union players and other athletes.

The side struggled in its first domestic season, primarily because of the amount of youth and experience within the club.

However as the team grew, the Sharks have become one of the most competitive sides in the AMNRL, having won the minor premiership in 2002 as well as finishing on top of their respective conference in 2003 and 2004.
