Ninian Park railway station is a railway station serving the Ninian Park area, which is just outside the centre of Cardiff. The station was opened when the City Line reopened to passenger services in 1987, using platforms previously used only for special trains run in connection with football matches. For this reason it has the longest platforms on the line, accommodating up to 9 coaches, rather than 2 coaches as at the other three stations opened at the same time. The station appeared on Ordnance Survey maps of the 1970s and early 1980s as a white circle denoting that it was closed to regular passenger services.
Passenger services are currently operated by Arriva Trains Wales.
The station is located near to the Cardiff City F.C. stadium. It is adjacent to the South Wales Main Line, but trains on this route do not stop. The Cardiff Canton depot is also situated next to the station.
