Nintendo Fusion Tour
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nintendo Fusion Tour is a touring rock/punk music and video game festival sponsored by Nintendo, which began in 2003.
Nintendo's Fusion Tour has provided early exposure for then-developing bands such as Evanescence, Story of the Year, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Anberlin, and Panic! at the Disco. The outing has expanded from 25 dates in 2003 with 90,000 in attendance to 45 last year with more than 160,000, according to Nintendo.[1]
The 2006 Nintendo Fusion Tour had Nintendo DS games, including Mario Hoops 3-on-3, Star Fox Command, and Elite Beat Agents and playable demos for the Wii, including Wii Sports, Wii Play (just the Shooting Demo), ExciteTruck, and WarioWare: Smooth Moves. Also present was the new Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess game. As the most popular it was alloted two different stations to combat the huge lines it attracted.

It is unaffectionately referred to as the Nintendo "ConFusion" Tour by its annual "revolving door" tour staff due to consistent mismanagement on the road. The majority of issues stem from the appointment of inexperienced Tour Managers (The exception being 2004) by Nintendo's Event Marketing company, U.S. Concepts, lack of tour staff support from U.S. Concepts themselves, and poor consideration concerning Venues and Routing as it relates to the gameplay aspect of the show. During 3 of the 4 years the tour has been on road the tour staff has requested the removal of the Tour Manager. U.S. Concepts honored the requests in 2003 and 2005, but not 2006.
