Originally known as OAO FIK Novafininvest, OAO Novatek is Russia's largest independent natural gas producer, and second-largest in Russia overall after the Public/State-owned Gazprom. The company is based in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region in West Siberia, and maintains sales offices in Moscow.
