"One Word" is the first single from Kelly Osbourne's second album Sleeping in the Nothing. Unlike the pop/punk sound Kelly sported in the past, "One Word" was a synth-pop song that showed Kelly embracing dance music. The single sounded very reminiscent of the 1980s Visage song "Fade to Grey", which caused some controversy over copyright issues.

Nonetheless, the song received a positive reaction from music fans and even some of Osbourne's harshest critics. And while the single wasn't a hit on the US Hot 100, it was extremely successful in the US dance charts and was consistently played at nightclubs across the nation thanks in part to a remix by acclaimed DJ Chris Cox. In the UK the original track reached #9.

Curiously, Italian pop singer Tiziano Ferro, who in recent years has been accused of plagiarising an R Kelly song for one his tracks, during summer 2006 released as a single a song called Stop! Dimentica, a song which is basically an unauthorized Italian version of the Visage track. It also has some lyrical resemblances with Osbourne's One Word, since both songs talk about "one word", about "breaking the silence", "lies that told great stories" and others.[citation needed]
