MAP: Top View Orai is a city in the state of Uttar Pradesh, in northern India, it is the district headquarter for Jalaun District. The city lies midway between the cities of Kanpur and Jhansi on National Highway 25.

Because of its proximity to Industrial city Kanpur, This city has already seen a good growth in Industrial area and going forwad to become an industrial hub after Kanpur.

City has historical value because of its location which is between Jhansi, Mahoba and Kalpi.

The city of Orai was named after the sage Rishi Uddhalak and was earlier known as Uddhalak Nagari.
