Ecclesiastical Ordinances
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ecclesiastical ordinances are the bylaws of a Christian religious organization, especially of diocese or province of a church. They are used in the Anglican Communion, particularly the American Episcopal Church and Roman Catholic Church.
Examples of Ecclesiastical Ordinances include:----
Ordinances of the Roman Catholic province of Canada: http://www.cccb.ca/site/content/view/1684/995/lang,eng/
Ordinances of Province VII of the Episcopal Church: http://www.episcopalchurch.org/province_VII_81566_ENG_HTM.htm .
An ordinance may also be used to describe the commandment of Jesus Christ, when he created the sacrament of the eucharist, as well as the sacarment of baptism. Such an ordinance is generally accepted as a sacrament by both Catholics and mainstream Protestants.
