Prickskyttegevär 90 (Psg 90) (lit. Sniper Rifle 90) Is the name given to the sniper rifle used by the Swedish Army. It was developed from the British L96A1 rifle made by Accuracy International. The L96A1 is widely recognized as one of the most accurate rifles in the world, and is used by many other armed forces and police services around the world. The Swedish Army model is designated L96A1 AW, where AW stands for "Arctic Warfare".

At the end of the 80s, the Swedish Defence Forces were looking to replace the aging Mauser M96 bolt-action rifle, the design dating from the late 19th century. The first plans included using a scoped version of the mainstay assault rifle of the Swedish Defence Forces, the Ak 4 (A Swedish version of the G3A3 rifle). However, the results were disappointing, and the need for a pure sniper rifle was soon realized.

In 1990, the L96A1 was accepted by the Swedish Defense Forces after many rigorous tests, and after a few modifications to accommodate the rifle to the Swedish operational environment. This is the same weapon as TRG-132
