Pahang State Anthem

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Historically, the state anthem of Pahang, the fourth of the Federated Malay States in the early years, was a result of a competition held in 1923. Miss Sworder, the daughter of the Agricultural Officer in Pekan at that time, sent an entry. She was a talented musician and her composition was chosen. She later married a well-known Medical Officer - Dr. Leicester and lived in Kuantan for many years. The lyrics for the anthem are:

Ya Allah Yang Maha Kuasa,
Lanjutkan Usia Duli Yang Maha Mulia,
Dirgahayu, Darul Makmur,
Aman dan Bahagia Sentiasa,
Ya Allah, Selamatkan,
Duli Tuanku Raja Kami
