Pailhead was a short-lived side project of the industrial music metal band Ministry, which featured the vocals of Ian MacKaye, formerly of The Teen Idles and Minor Threat, and currently of Fugazi and The Evens.

Considering MacKaye's inadvertent role in the establishment of the straight edge community and Paul Barker and Al Jourgensen's legendary drug use, one would never have expected them to collaborate.

Pailhead only released 1988's Trait, a 6-song EP of previous released singles under the Wax Trax label:

  1. "Man Should Surrender"
  2. "Anthem"
  3. "Don't Stand in Line"
  4. "Ballad"
  5. "I Will Refuse"
  6. "No Bunny"

These tracks were later re-released on Ministry's odds-and-ends compilation Side Trax.

The song "I Will Refuse" was used in the Zero Skateboards video, Misled Youth.
