Paul Underwood (born August 16, 1973 in Wimbledon, South London) is a professional footballer, currently playing for Luton Town in the Football League Championship.
Paul began his career with Carshalton Athletic, and after spells at Sutton United, Dorking F.C. and Molesey F.C., he moved to Enfield F.C.. After a year at Enfield F.C. he joined Rushden & Diamonds for £50,000 in the summer of 1997. During his time at Rushden & Diamonds he represented England as a semi-professional international. He made over 200 appearances during his time at Nene Park, and during this time they won the Football Conference and the Football League Two title, as well as losing a play-off final to Cheltenham Town at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
He was signed by Luton in March 2003 and was injured just 19 minutes into his debut in a 1-1 draw at Queens Park Rangers just two days after joining the club. The injury forced him to miss the remainder of the 2003-04 season.
Paul had a superb season during the 2004-05 campaign as the Hatters won the Football League One Championship.
Paul is currently recovering from a blood-related illness, suffered during the summer of 2006, however he recently signed a new contract at Luton keeping him at Kenilworth Road until 2009.
