From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pavlodar is a province of Kazakhstan. Its capital is the city of Pavlodar, which has a population of 300,000. The province itself has 851,000 people. Pavlodar borders Russia to the north, and also borders the following Kazakh provinces: Aqmola, East Kazakhstan (Shyghys Qazaqstan), North Kazakhstan (Soltustik Qazaqstan), and Qaraghandy. Many people, especially Ukrainians, immigrated to Pavlodar in Nikita Kruschev's Virgin Lands Campaign. The Irtysh River flows from the Altay Mountains in the People's Republic of China to Russia through the province.
