Portsmouth International Airport at Pease (IATA: PSM, ICAO: KPSM) is a public airport in southeastern New Hampshire, about 50 miles north of Boston, Massachusetts. There is limited commercial service. The airport is also actively utilized by the 157th Air Refueling Wing of the NH Air National Guard, where it is known as Pease Air National Guard Base.
Pease International Tradeport is the result of the ongoing redevelopment of the former Pease Air Force Base which was closed under the Base Realignment and Closure Act.
The airport served as a hub for Pan Am from 1998 until 2005. In 2005, all main-line Pan Am flights at the airport were suspended. However, Boston-Maine Airways now serves Bedford, Massachusetts, five times a week. Pease is an emergency landing site for NASA space shuttles.[citation needed]
