This article is about pedophilia/paedophilia in literature, i.e. works of fiction/novels; autobiographies/biographies and other non-fiction works. Pedophilia, romantic or sexual relations between adults and children, and child sexual abuse have been important themes of many books.

This article concentrates on the way both pedophile feelings and the sexual abuse of children by adults are described in literature, with a particular emphasis on fictional works.

Much of the literature describes criminal activity, though pedophilia (the condition of being sexually attracted to young children) is not necessarily a crime. There are examples of pedophiles who are attracted to children, but who never abuse and there are examples of men who fall in love or become obsessed with one specific child, but again do not abuse them. Finally there are examples of child sexual abuse where the perpetrator is not a pedophile.

Shotacon is a Japanese term for a sexual complex where an adult is attracted to an underage boy and is applied to artwork or manga depicting pre-pubescent or pubescent boys. Boku no Pico is an example of a shotacon anime. The female equivalent of shotacon is lolicon.

Shōnen-ai is anime or manga, originally meant 'love between young men' but now commonly refers to relationships or fixations between adult males and pubescent or prepubescent boys, as in Inagaki Taruho's 1968 book Shōnen-ai no bigaku (The aesthetics of boy love).

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan, lierally translated as Club-To-Death Angel is a fiction series written by Masaki Okayu. It was a serialised Japanese light novel, then manga and anime versions were created. A young boy stops girls aged 12 from maturing and is accused of creating a pedophile's heaven. Dragon Ball is the first part of the anime adaptation of the Dragon Ball manga written by Akira Toriyama. Blue displays sexual interest towards a young boy.
