Peter Christian Kierkegaard (6 July 180524 February 1888), Danish theologian, politician and Lutheran bishop of Aalborg from 1857 until 1875, brother of Søren Kierkegaard. As a theologian of the official church, he had on several occasions criticized his brother’s works, notably at the Roskilde Ecclesiastical Conventions in 1849 and 1855. However, he delivered the eulogy for his brother at the Church of Our Lady — a eulogy that Søren would probably have refused if he could.[citation needed]

Peter Kierkegaard married Elise Marie Boisen in 1836, who died childless in the following year. He later married Sophie Henriette ("Jette") Glahn in 1841. They had one child, Pascal Poul Egede Kierkegaard.

From 4 September 1867 to 6 March 1868 he was Kultus Minister in the Cabinet of Frijs.[1]
