Toronto Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology

The Toronto Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology (TIPT) is a Toronto, Ontario-based registered private career college licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. TIPT was founded in 1992, and offers diplomas related to the pharmaceutical production industry. TIPT is owned by Transpharm Canada, Inc., and is a subsidiary of Transpharm UK.

As of 2006, the dean of faculty and president of the institute is Alexander MacGregor.

In 1995 Dr. MacGregor, Nneka Orakwue and TIPT were the subject of an Ontario Human Rights Code Board of Inquiry alleging two cases of discrimination in employment practices.[1] The final disposition was that one of the two complainant employees of TIPT, Mini Chacko, was found to have been wrongfully dismissed by the respondents because of her pregnancy, and awarded CAD$12,850.96 actual damages and CAD$5,000 (plus interest) for having her right to be free from discrimination infringed. The second complaint, filed by Dr. Indar Maharaj, was dismissed by the board.[2][3][4]
