Joel Philip Stacey (born January 25, 1978) is an American singer and finalist on season 6 of American Idol. He auditioned in Memphis.

Stacey was born in Harlan County, Kentucky.[1] His mother, Adrell Horn, was born in Madison County, Kentucky and works as a nurse in Smyrna, Tennessee.[2] His father, Gary Stacey, is a Church of God minister who pastors a church. Stacey's maternal grandfather, Carlie Horn, was also a Church of God pastor.[1] Stacey grew up in Fairfield, Ohio and began singing in church.[1]

He serves as a member of the band in the United States Navy.
Phil graduated from Northwest High School in Wichita, Kansas in 1997. He attended Douglas Anderson School of the Arts as well as Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. He holds a degree in vocal performance from Lee, where he was a member of the exclusive choir, Lee Singers, and its even more exclusive touring group, Second Edition. In addition to his vocal prowess, he is memorable for missing the birth of his daughter, McKayla, to audition for Idol. He also has one other daughter, Chloe. He currently is a distance learning student at Liberty University. [3] WXKB in Fort Myers has recently started playing his version of Every Breath You Take
