Philippe Gilbert

Philippe Gilbert (born July 5, 1982 in Verviers) is a Belgian road racing cyclist, known as a Classics specialist (cycling). A professional rider since 2003, Gilbert rides on the 2006 UCI ProTour for the Française des Jeux squad.

In 2004, he represented his country and participated in the men's road race at the Summer Olympics. He participated in the 2005 Tour de France. What make's Gilbert unusual is that he is from Wallonia, meaning he is a French speaking by nature, whereas most Belgian cyclists come from Flanders.
