Philosophy and Literature is an academic journal founded in 1977. It explores the connections between literary and philosophical studies by presenting ideas on the aesthetics of literature, critical theory, and the philosophical interpretation of literature. The publications aims to challenge preexisting academic dogma. Articles tend to be written in plain English, eschewing the specialized language of academic disciplines. The editors are doctors Denis Dutton of the University of Canterbury and Garry Hagberg of Bard College.
