Photo identification is generally used to define any form of identification that includes a photograph of the holder.

Some countries use a government issued card as a proof of age or citizenship.

Types of photo ID cards include:

Passports
Driver's licenses or state ID cards
Company issued id cards

Though the requirements for making passport photos vary around the world, they all adhere to a few basic requirements:

Front-facing photo of the subject
Clear focus of the subject and visibility of the eyes and both ears
