Piczo was launched in 2004 and allows users to integrate elements like photos, blogging, and basic online chat. Its key focus is user-user interaction. It is particularly popular with teenagers and pre-teens, though many adults are using it too. Using plain text and HTML, signed-in users can add images, text content, guestbooks, message boxes and other page elements, such as personal pages and profile pages on the users account. Current partners include YouTube, VideoEgg, Photobucket and Flock.

More and more features are being able to come to piczo. Before, you could upload pictures, simple backgrounds, text, and clipart, but now so much more can be accessed. The most efficient way to find popular icons, backgrounds, fonts, music players, ect. is to visit Piczo Pros. This has hundreds of links to various media players, games, and more. They give us access to go beyond what piczo was programed to do and now how individuals can manipulate it into a creative way to contact friends and express themselves.
Piczo is becoming increasingly popular in youth culture and Internet culture. Among ages thirteen to fifteen, the web researcher Nielsen/NetRatings illustrates that Piczo was the fastest-growing online brand in the UK last year with almost half its audience girls under 18. [1]. Other large markets are Canada and other European Nations, most notably Norway. [2]. Piczo had 10.2 million unique visitors worldwide in August 2006. Piczo uses: Communication (internet), personal site, sharing, informations. Piczo allows you to upload pictures, music, videos and other resources. It is called 'your own website' and you can customize your page in everysingle way, putting in text boxes, changing the fonts, changing the colour of scrollbars, change backgrounds, images and upload some games. Piczo is one of the most popular networking sites.
Because of the ease of use functions to develop photo websites, Piczo generates "invalid" HTML code. Pages with many photos and text blocks may contain thousands of errors. Therefore, teens using Piczo to create websites will be less motivated and less willing to learn proper HTML in schools because they would use Piczo to build their websites instead.
