Level Platforms was formed in 1999 as an international Managed Service Provider serving small and medium sized businesses (SMBs). The company subsequently shifted its strategy to leverage its experience to create the next generation remote monitoring and management software to help IT service providers transform their business models from reactive break/fix to proactive managed services.

In May 2004, Level Platforms released Managed Workplace 3.0 as the first version of its managed services software for IT service providers. In November 2004 Level Platforms received Microsoft’s IMPACT Award for networking infrastructure Solution of the Year. Level Platforms received the Winning Customer Initiative – Small Business Solution of the Year Award in July 2005 and in 2006 won the Microsoft Global Award for ISV Software Sales and Marketing Partner of the Year.

Level Platforms was founded by Peter Sandiford, formerly the President and Vice Chairman of SHL Systemhouse Inc. In the nine years he held these positions he led the growth of their revenues from $35 million to over $1 billion ranking number 43 on the VAR Business 500 before its acquisition by MCI in the late 1990s.
