Pollok is a predominantly working class district on the southside of the city of Glasgow, Scotland.

The main features of the area are the nearby park, Pollok Country Park and the adjacent Crookston Castle, where Mary Queen of Scots was once held.

The area is currently represented on the City of Glasgow council by Keith Baldassara, one of the two Scottish Socialist Party councillors.

Pollok's children are served by St Paul's High School which recently gained national coverage for its rise up the league tables. This was attributed to the highly controversial streaming of pupils, introduced by Headteacher Rod O'Donnell. St Pauls High School is recognised as one of the schools of ambition in Scotland.

St Paul's is actually a continuation of Bellarmine Secondary School but built on the grounds of the old Craigbank Secondary School. This was due to the grounds being donated by the Maxwell family for use by the Education authority.

Pollok currently has the largest Tesco in Scotland at the side of the old Pollok Centre and the soon to be realised Silverburn Mall. When completed, as well as bringing many hundreds of jobs to the area, Pollok will be able to boast Silverburn as the largest of its kind in Scotland.

Major department stores such as M&S and Debenhams have signed up to be part of the new shopping centre, to replace the old Pollok Centre. A new 24 hour Tesco Extra opened on the site in July 2006 and will link up with the centre. The development has already started, it will include 95 stores and 13 restaurants/cafes, whatever they might be, for completion this October, it will compete with Braehead at Renfrew for custom.
